Coinciding with #NationalTreeWeek2023 the #WoodAwardsIreland took place last night at Farmleigh. The WAI Awards are organised by Forest Industries Ireland in partnership with the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI) and Enterprise Ireland. The purpose is the promotion of wood as a sustainable material in innovative projects both within Ireland and overseas.
Our Eco Pavilion, Éirigh which was designed by Reddy Architecture and Urbanism was given a Commendation in the Innovation Category at the awards. The collaborative project brought together art, architecture, design and sustainable construction and was both a unique gathering space and centre piece at the inaugural IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) Eco Festival held in Kilmainham last October.
The Festival was designed to enable dialogue, empower audiences to become agents of change and encourage conversation about the environment, sustainability and their connection to both art and the built environment. Congratulations to all involved including Reddy Architecture and Urbanism, MJ Duncan and Sons, Barrett Mahony Engineers, Chadwicks, Willie Duggan Lighting and all at IMMA
